Students in the Information Security course at the University of New Mexico's (UNM) Anderson
School of Management are taking what they learned in the classroom and reaching out to the
Albuquerque and surrounding area schools. Students are traveling to local high schools, middle
schools, and even elementary schools to demonstrate safe computer behavior and raise awareness
about best practices on how to protect your personal information.

Two students from the graduate Information Assurance program at the University of New Mexico,
Kevin Rodriguez and Leila Potts, were selected to participate in the 2009 program. The program
is a 10 week summer internship open to both undergraduate and graduate students. The selection
process is highly competitive and a very small percentage of applicants from universities
are admitted.
